FOR TODAY… from Pamela’s Daybook

Outside my window…the temperature has risen to a balmy 10° fahrenheit (feels good after the last chilly week!) but the skies are gray and depressing. How about a little sun, please?

I am thinking…that I’m looking forward to February and our Superbowl party this Sunday.

I am thankful for…my son feeling better after a difficult three weeks of being sick. God bless his doctor for determining what was wrong and prescribing a treatment that’s worked for him.

I am wearing…grey dress slacks, a smoky blue cowl neck sweater, black shoes and my chunky silver, blue and pearly grey bead bracelet.

I am remembering…what a lovely weekend it was spending time with my husband all of Saturday and how thankful I am that my son came back from his father’s in a better mood than usual.

I am going…to Caribou tonight for Monday Treat Night. It’s tradition. Hmmm…which drink should I choose?

I am currently reading…The Night Villa: A Novel Simple Womans Daybook February 1, 2010by Carol Goodman.

I am hoping…for a week of less stress and more focus for my son. Please let his spirit lighten and help him to feel relaxed and confident.

On my mind…Feature articles I’d like to write and a short story I should be writing.

From the kitchen…My husband is making nacho dip for dinner…yum! although not the most nutritious. My son won’t eat it but he can have rice and chicken.

Around the house…The house is in pretty good shape; just need to do some dishes and a few loads of laundry. Maybe we’ll get some of those pictures hung that have been hiding behind the endtable the last few years…

One of my favorite things…soft, purring kitty cats in my arms, above my head, by my legs, on my chest, or basically anywhere nearby.

From my picture journal…(actually, from a folder of art I enjoy)

Oh, to be doing this today…all day…

FOR TODAY… from Pamela’s Daybook

Outside my window…the hard city streets tempered by gently falling snow.

I am thinking…that I’m enjoying getting back to blogging more although I’ll be easier on myself about it. No more pressure.

I am thankful for…a super fun weekend with my sister and her family, and my brothers. Good food, good company, good times.

I am wearing…brown dress shoes, medium brown slacks, a muted brown, green and cream colored top with a gothic design and a cream cardigan.

I am remembering…that I have financial obligations I must attend to.

I am going…to finally decide on a format for gratitude journaling this week.

I am currently reading…The Brutal Telling by Louise Penny. I have fallen in love with her writing and recommend her books to everyone.

I am hoping…and praying that my son get over the stomach flu/issues he’s been having.

On my mind…my beautiful friend Jane and the loss of her daughter. I wish I could make it all better for her.*

Noticing that…While I still love stylish clothes, comfort is becoming more important to me.

Pondering these words…“The fault is in the blamer. Spirit sees nothing to criticize.” ~ Rumi

From the kitchen…leftover spaghetti and giant, yummy meatballs from last night’s dinner. Add a little salad and some breadsticks and wa-la!

Around the house…I’m going to go through the papers, magazines and boxes sitting in front of my desk. It’s truly a ridiculous sight! I’m also on a mission to get through the laundry pile this week!

One of my favorite things…the soft, fluffy “stay at home” socks Santa brought me for Christmas.

From my picture journal…

FOR TODAY…June 9, 2009

Outside my window…the world is still outside after two days of much needed rain.

I am thinking…that I need some coffee if I’m going to navigate this day.

I am thankful for…the teachers who worked with my son over the years and the teachers who will work with him in this next phase of his life.

From the kitchen…chicken and rice with an Asian flair courtesy of my husband.

I am wearing…grey slacks, a soft top of muted blues, greens and cream with a gothic type design, and black loafers.

I am creating…I’m a few days behind in posting my full moon dreamboard and I’m not sure if I’ll get it done this month.  This weekend, my son and I will start looking through his pictures so we can create a board full of photos for his open house.

I am going…to bring my son in to the doctor this morning, then its off to work.

I am reading…the final quarter of the book Fool Moon (second in series) by Jim Butcher about wizard Harry Dresden.

I am hoping…to have an abundance of energy this evening so my family and I can go for a walk, weather permitting; I can get some laundry done AND help my son clean and organize his room.  It seriously needs a good booters and keepers session!

I am hearing…the refrigerator hum and one of the kittens chomping on her breakfast.  The clock is also ticking away, warning me it is time to get ready for work.

Around the house…The house is in pretty good shape so tonight we’ll focus on laundry.  Oh, we’ve got to get to repairing that front step soon!

One of my favorite things…a room filled with sequins and glitter and paint and brushes and pencils and pipe cleaners and felt and fabric….!!

A few plans for the rest of the week:  I’d like to get some yard work done, order a cake for my son’s graduation open house, decide on a menu, catch up on laundry, and spend some quality time doing fun activities with my family.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing…

I might have this haircut someday.  Love the color, too!
