Look what I found at A Bibliophile’s Bookshelf:
It’s not like I need another challenge, even though it is a book challenge, but since I love this genre so much, why the heck not?! Bella, our hostess, explains the challenge at her 101 of the Best Fantasy Books post. (The PDF version of the full list is at 101 Fantasy Book List (PDF).)
Here are the rules:
- Pick the number of books you want to read. It can be a mixture of the top 101, and/or the whole list. For example, you might want to aim to read 5 from the top 101 and 5 from the rest of the list.
- Create a list of the books you want to tackle. You can create a list now, or add them as you go. Completely up to you.
- The challenge runs from 10/10/09 to 10/10/10.
- Please post the direct link to your 101 Fantasy Reading Challenge post. (so that other participants can visit and see what you are reading)
Sounds easy, right? Here are some of the books from the top 101 of the list that I’ve already read:
- Dickens, Charles – A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
- Donaldson, Stephen R. – Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever by Stephen R. Donaldson

- Eddings, David – Pawn of Prophecy
- Eddings, David – Queen of Sorcery
- Eddings, David – Magician’s Gambit
- Eddings, David – Castle of Wizardry
- Eddings, David – Enchanter’s End Game
- Gaiman, Neil – American Gods
- Galenorn, Yasmine – Witchling
- Harrison, Kim – Dead Witch Walking
- Harrison, Kim – The Good, The Bad, And The Undead
- Harrison, Kim – Every Which Way But Dead
- Stoker, Bram – Dracula
- Tolkien, JRR – The Hobbit
- Tolkien, JRR – The Fellowship Of The Ring
- Tolkien, JRR – The Two Towers
- Tolkien, JRR – The Lord Of The Rings
The books I plan to read from the list are:
- Briggs, Patricia – Moon Called
- Coehlo, Paul – The Alchemist
- Frost, Jeaniene – Halfway To The Grave
- Frost, Jeaniene – One Food In The Grave
- Frost, Jeaniene – At Grave’s End
- Gaiman, Neil – The Graveyard Book
- Harrison, Kim – A Fistful Of Charms

It’s highly likely I’ll read even more. If you’ve read any of the books in my “to be read” list for this challenge, please let me know your thoughts. Better yet, why don’t you join me in this challenge and we can compare notes! At the very least, please check out Bella’s blog, A Bibliophile’s Bookshelf, because it truly rocks!

SO tempted to join this. I hope you enjoy The Graveyard Book – it’s one of my favourites!
