Wishcasting Wednesday

halloweentreat Wishcasting Wednesday

Hello again, friends! I’m back and feeling better, and will explain my absence in another post, but today, I’m happy to be joining you again on this of all days; the day we support each other in our wishes and dreams.

Our ever supportive and inspiring leader, Jamie Ridler, asks us today:

What treat do you wish for?

I can say that I’m already receiving my treat because I found out last night that my sister and her family will be visiting us this weekend. We only see them every few months, less in winter, and it is unlikely we’ll be together at Thanksgiving or Christmas so their being here this weekend (and on Halloween!) is definitely a treat!

We’ll invite my brothers, their family, and the rest of the gang and have a bash on Saturday night! A little RockBand, regular and Beatles, is sure to be part of the fun, along with our cemetery setup outside, cute kids in costumes and lots of sweet treats!

Since my sister moved four hours away and my parents passed away, our family does not see each other as much as we used to or as much as I’d like. My sister and I have a special bond and it’s been difficult not having her close but we do keep in contact by telephone and email. It will be wonderful to have her, along with everyone else, together again for a fun and positive occasion.

Another treat I could wish for right now would be if someone could drop a boat load of cash at my door so we could take care of debt and put ourselves in a better position. Oh, and maybe a shopping spree at a bookstore! Yeah, that would be good! ;)

Hop on over to Jamie Ridler Studios to read more wishes. Won’t you join us?

Due to unforeseen health reasons, I will be taking a temporary break from blogging.  It is unfortunate because I was participating in Domestic Witch’s October Blog Party and Wednesday, October 7th was to be the date my blog was to be featured on Mrs. B’s 31 Days of Halloween Haunted Blog Tour.  I apologize to both of you for having to back out of these fun festivities.  I hope you’ll visit both of their blogs this month.  There is plenty of fun, and giveaway prizes, to be had!

I hope to return soon.  Many blessings to you all!

Full Harvest Moon Dreamboard

I thought my Full Harvest Moon Dreamboard would consist of pictures of family and gatherings, baking and cool weather scenery. But as I browsed through several magazines, I found myself attracted not only to those that depicted warmth, comfort, and the Autumn season, but also those that reflected some of my current personal goals.

You’ll find here my love for books and the written word. I’m currently participating in several book challenges and these books also represent my desire to become a published author. The Japanese woman reflects my love for the Japanese culture and my desire to read more Japanese literature. My husband and son share my love for all things Japanese and we hope to visit there someday.

It is difficult to see but on the far left above the pumpkins, there is a picture of a busy Spanish street with what appears to be several shops. I would love to travel the world and collect treasures I could bring back and display or sell in my very own shop. This shop would be filled with magic and warmth and would hopefully be somewhere you’d love to visit.

My difficulty with doing “nothing”, the first ingredient in The Joy Diet, was a big reminder that I needed to start that meditation practice I’ve thought about for so long. It was also a reminder start practicing yoga on a more consistent basis. I’d like to think that the meditating woman is visualizing the beautiful colored leaves on the tree covered hills that peek through the mist in the photo next to her. I know it is what I’d be visualizing to bring myself to a calm and peaceful place.

The key to juggling all of my interests and desires, responsibilities and duties, and building a healthy mind and body is balance. To become the woman I want to be, and live the life I’d like to live, I must find balance. It is imperative not only for me, but for my family as well. I am only cheating them of the wife and mother they deserve if I cheat myself of what will make me whole.

May this harvest moon bring us all the abundant life we desire.
