Book Blogging Group Hosted By Jamie Ridler

I”m excited to start reading The Joy Diet: 10 Daily Practices for a Happier Life and compare notes with my fellow participants.  I’ve not read anything yet, mainly because I’ve been trying to finish up some other books for the book challenges I’m participating in.

The chapters in this book intrigue me.  Each chapter focuses on one of the ten behaviors (truth, desire, treats and more) we should incorporate into our joy diet.  The first behavior is nothing and I’m not sure how well I’ll do with it.  There was a time I could sit and daydream and be perfectly content.  Now, even if I’m sitting and physically doing nothing, my mind continues to race and then I get agitated and feel like I should be up doing something so the entire exercise becomes a dismal failure.  I look forward to Martha Beck’s, and my fellow participants’, thoughts on nothing.

If you’d like to read Jamie Ridler’s first post for this book blog group adventure, have a look here.  Please consider joining us.

Here’s to getting one step closer to a happier and more joyful life!

I think the beauty of sharing such a journey is that some will find certain of the elements a little easier to experience or describe and so we may help each other to more fully use these lessons. I love the invitation to nothing. I’m finding it more difficult to imagine how I”ll jump in to identifying a risk that I can take.

Looking forward to this journey with you.

  18. Valli says:

Here’s to Joy. May you enjoy the silence this week. take care.
