Our inspirational Wishcasting hostess Jamie Ridler asks the question:
What do you wish to learn?
This might be one of the easiest yet most difficult questions yet. I could easily say, “What don’t I wish to learn?” I wish to learn more about writing and crafting a great story. I wish to learn a million and one techniques for how to paint, create jewelry, be a better wife and mother, design advertisements and signs, create websites from scratch, make beautiful art dolls, sketch more quickly, whip up tasty meals, lose weight in a flash, take care of home repairs, knit a beautiful sweater, design my own clothing and win Project Runway… The list goes on and on and in no particular order.
If I could be granted at least three learning wishes, what would I choose? Thankfully, there is really no end to learning whether I wish it or not, so I can wish to my heart’s content. However, in the interest of time, and your patience, let’s stick with three wishes, shall we?
- I wish to learn better and quicker techniques and ideas for helping my son to become all that he can be.
- I wish to learn how to retrain myself into (a) better managing money, (b) taking back control from the procrastination monster, and (c) letting go of fear and living a confident life.
- I wish to soak up as much knowledge, in every subject, as I can and retain that knowledge for the rest of my days. I am truly interested in most everything and would love to be able to access any given file in the memory cabinets of my mind at a moment’s notice. Maybe one of those memory classes are in order.
I feel as if I’m forgetting something incredibly important, like learning to better love God, or how to feed millions. I obviously wish those things, but my list today will remain more selfish.

I often feel the same way, what is it that I don’t wish to learn. I LOVE learning. Beautiful quote from Ghandi also.

Hey Pamela,
I share your wish to “soak up” everything! Curiosity is a marvelous gift too many people leave behind when they get “promoted” to adulthood. You are already a great writer using metaphors like “memory cabinets.” It’s evident in your posts. I wish for all these wishes to come true, but even more I wish for you to trust yourself, you are already great!
