Jamie Ridler (of Jamie Ridler Studios) gave us this instruction for creating our dreamboards:  as we celebrate the Full Corn Moon, and also say goodbye to that time of year ruled by the sun, we are to reflect on and share how we’d like to shine.  I had difficulty with this, not knowing what specifically I wanted to focus on, so I decided to let the photos speak to me as I scrolled through them.  Speak to me they did.

The first photo spoke of protection and guidance with its tall wall of trees and the light breaking through to reveal the true path.  The lush shades of green imbues life and presence to the scene.

I love looking at headstones and statuary, pausing to reflect on the lives and stories they tell us.  The sun’s caress of the angel in the second photo gives her life and makes her look of reflection even more poignant.  May I forever be grateful for all I’ve been given.

Just as the stack of books in photo 3 reaches for the sky, so does my love for reading, writing and knowledge.  I will never stop learning and trying to find the method of sharing that knowledge that best works for me.

As the sun shines through the blue glass/stone in photo 4, bringing it warmth yet revealing its flaws, I find a sea of mystery and spirit.  I long to jump into that sea and discover its secrets.

The fifth photo’s intent is fairly obvious:  peace, unity, community and love.  Let me shine forth as a peacekeeper, joining together friend and foe, revealing in the process our shared convictions and mutual interests.

Photo 6 speaks to me of generosity, trust and friendship, and a concern for others no matter their species or station.  We all have our part to play and should support each other in our efforts.

The seventh photo made me smile as I love this feline’s snappy style and joie de vivre.  No need to be afraid, go ahead and be yourself and love every minute of it!

As I gaze at photo 8, I realize I’ve arrived early.  Revelers will arrive any minute to fill up this space with laughter and tinkling glasses.  Can’t you feel the excitement, the magic?  Forget about doubt and insecurities, let’s have fun and live in the moment!

The ninth and final photo whispers of passion, connection to self and our senses.  Breathe it all in and feel everything.  Drench yourself in it.

With these things:

protection, guidance and life

reflection and gratitude

reading, writing, knowledge and mentorship

clarity, mystery and spirit

generosity, trust, friendship, concern and support

joy of life, fearless and ferocious

laughter, revelry, excitement and magic

passion, senses and connection to self,

let me shine.
