Wishcasting Wednesday – Invitation

wishcastingwednesdays02mini1 Wishcasting Wednesday Invitation

Ahh, it’s that time again. Time to put away practicality and let our dreams and desires take center stage. Our wishcasting hostess, the beautiful Jamie Ridler, asks us today:

What do you wish to invite in?

Let me start by saying that I recently won a tarot reading by Jamie when she gave it as a prize during the celebration of her new site. She sent me my reading yesterday and I haven’t responded to it yet because, well, it resonated deeply with me and brought feelings I’d been wrestling with to the surface. It needed to happen and I will properly thank her for it. She’s such a gem and I’m sure she has no idea how much her gift means to me. In a way, it was validation and definitely inspiration to move forward and take chances.

I wish to invite in more opportunities to be creative and explore avenues to make my dreams reality. This past weekend, I took a jewelry making class with some friends and had a blast. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for some time now. I even have beads and other supplies at home but just wasn’t able to get myself started. Now that I know some of the basic steps, I can move on and take more classes, design my own jewelry and perhaps even sell it!

The night before the jewelry class, I received (while taking a shower, of course) some great ideas for a book series. I wrote down notes and will need to do some research. I’ve decided that even if my stories end up stinking to high heaven, I’m going to write them. Obviously, I’ll try not to let that happen but I’m not going to let my doubts hold me back. I invite in courage, clarity, a good dose of humor, and quiet moments to help me on this journey.

I am normally someone who embraces change and often seek it out as I get bored easily. In Jamie’s reading for me, she mentions that my spirit is seeking change but there’s been a fair amount of resistance on my part. This is a big change my spirit is seeking and it makes sense that I’d resist because of time, money and energy issues. I am to sneak up on this slowly, give myself time and permission to dream, and make it a priority. Write in a journal, take a class, try on new clothes, create a dreamboard…whatever will feed my dreams. I invite moments for dreaming, really dreaming, full on exploration, not just, “I wish I had more time and money so my family will be secure and I can devote my time to creative endeavors,” but taking enough time to dig deeper so I can create a dream map.

One of my biggest fears is watching my dreams slip away. Maybe I’ll need to make less money or push something else aside in order to push my dreams up higher on my priority list. Would that be so bad? Right now, even though my husband and I pull in decent money, we’re still struggling to pay our bills and buy groceries. Is it possible to pull back even further in this area? Can I be an example by sacrificing in one or two areas in order to give birth to another? Don’t we want our children to seek out what will make them truly happy? Don’t we teach them that money isn’t everything? And, isn’t there that saying about doing what you love and the money will follow?

Thank you, Jamie, for today’s wish prompt and yesterday’s amazing reading. I’ll be emailing you about the reading.

I invite all of my fellow and future wishcasters to dream and plan and wish along with me. As you wish, I wish for you also!
