simple woman daybook large The Simple Womans Daybook 6/1/09

FOR TODAY – June 1, 2009

Outside my window…all is still except for a lone bird with an urgent message.  I must refamiliarize myself with the calls of various birds so I know which ones are visiting each day.

I am thinking…I have a busy week ahead so I must put myself in the right frame of mind and make sure I get enough sleep.

I am thankful for…my life, my family and friends.  When someone you care about passes, it’s only natural to appreciate even more the time you’re allowed in this world.

From the kitchen…I’m determined to eat more healthy this week so I’ve stocked up on packaged fruit and veggies (allergic to a certain protein in fresh fruit and veggies) and lean meats for lunches and fewer processed foods for dinner.

I am wearing…black running shorts and a white t-shirt from my son’s school.  For work, I’ll be wearing black slacks and a celery green sweater set with black shoes.

I am creating…this new blog and also starting Wreck This Journal which should prove to be very fun and I hope liberating.

I am going…to my son’s high school graduation ceremony on Wednesday!!  Congratulations, Kiddo!

I am reading…I’m near the end of several books right now and then plan to start The Fiction Writer’s Workshop.

I am hoping…and praying that my son does not get too anxious about the graduation ceremony and is able to enjoy it.

I am hearing…Devi munching her kitten food as I munch my cereal.

Around the house…there are items collecting here and there that must be put away and the laundry pile is growing quite large.  No more procrastinating!!  :)

One of my favorite things…The sound of a kitten purring, especially when she’s cuddling on my chest with her head on my shoulder.

A few plans for the rest of the week…There is a funeral tomorrow I’d like to attend but will probably not be able to take the time off to do so; graduation on Wednesday and various errands.

A picture thought I am sharing…

Awww, the sweet sound of a kitten purring. It’s been so long since I’ve heard that very sound. It truly is a sweet one!
